We’re happy to accept donations of clean, used furniture and household items free of mildew, smoke, & pet damage. Unfortunately we can’t accept bed frames, headboards, used mattresses and box springs, futons, large china hutches, TV armoires/Entertainment Centers, older-style televisions, space heaters, exercise or medical equipment, sheets, bed pillows, and children's items which include: stuffed animals, cribs, changing tables, strollers, car seats, playpens, baby bottles, etc.

We accept donations during open hours. Please email fx@mit.edu first to get approval for the items you want to donate. Please note: MIT FX staff and volunteers can not help move items into and out of the FX warehouse. For large items, please bring help.

We may be able to arrange a pick-up of a sizable donation.

Email fx@mit.edu with photos of the item(s) along with your address and any info that movers would need to know about parking, what floor the items are on, and if there is an elevator.

If we decide that the pick-up isn’t too cost prohibitive, we’ll put you in touch with the movers to arrange dates and times. We pay for movers out of a limited budget. Please accept our apologies if we are not able to pick up your items.

All donations are tax deductible. Let us know if you’d like a receipt.
